Games

Game on!

The Whalers love a good game—whether we’re hosting on home ice in Courtenay or hitting the road for matchups in Nanaimo, Campbell River, Port Alberni, and Fuller Lake. Throughout the season, we mix it up with a variety of fun and competitive games.

We also team up with the Comox Breakers for what we call “scrambles”—refereed games where we mix rosters and just play for the love of the game. And when we’re not on the road, we keep things lively with intersquad games that bring out our team spirit and friendly competition.

Tournaments

Whalers on tour: hockey, hijinks and hotel snacks.

Every season, the Courtenay Whalers hit the road for some of the most fun and memorable weekends of the year—tournaments! In this past season, we laced up in Nanaimo, Campbell River, Powell River, and Whistler. These events are a great mix of hockey, team bonding, and good times on and off the ice.

In previous years, we’ve also taken our game to Victoria, and Port Hardy, and we’re always on the lookout for new places to play and connect with other teams.

Whether it’s a road trip or a ferry ride away, tournaments are a big part of what makes being a Whaler so much fun.
