The Whalers have a busy two weeks on the ice in preparation to the Campbell River tournament taking place on the first weekend of April. Because the Whalers have more than two players with a high rating in skills and experience, they had to register in the tournament in the veteran category which is the higher category of the tournament. The Whalers are up tot he challenge but know it will be a big task ahead.

On March 12th, the Whalers went down to Parksville to play the intermediate local team. The game was a fun and peaceful event and the Whalers were able to skate away with a 5-2 win. Tera Kasubuchi had a hat trick.

The following Tuesday, the Whalers travelled again to Parksville, but this time to play the more advanced of the Parksville teams. It was a very even game with the Whalers lending a goalie and a player to the opposite team. Kasubuchi had another hat trick while Melissa Peacock had herself two and Emily Murray had one. Final score of 8-6.  Chrissy Sine from the Whalers played with Parksville and contributed to the score sheet with a hat trick as well!

The Whalers will play the Breakers on Tuesday March 22 at 6pm at the Sport Centre 1. They also play the Parksville team on Thursday March 24th at 8:15 (Sport Centre 1) and Friday March 25th at 7:00 (Sport Centre 2) against Nanaimo.
