The Whalers kept their winning ways last weekend when they made their way to Port Hardy for the annual Hardy tournament. Off to a slower start on the late Friday night game, they managed a tie with the host in the last few minutes of the game despite having the lead for most of the game. The Whalers managed to win the next two games on Saturday, displaying some great finishes and outscoring the opposition 18 to 3 aggregate. Final game on Sunday proved to be a tight one against a much younger Port McNeil Team. The play was a little lob sided but the Whalers were able to hang on to a 2-2 score until the second sudden death overtime. Meghann Moore in goal proved to be the safe keeper, giving the Whalers a chance throughout the whole game.
Whalers will be participating in the Comox Base tournament this weekend. First game Friday night 5:20pm at the Glacier Gardens arena.
