The Whalers were on the road again over the weekend to face a very strong and experienced *beep beep* Nanaimo team. The game started right away with some pace and the Whalers were able to keep up with the play for most of the first period. Then the their goalie got busy! The Whalers had to call upon Port Alberni for reinforcement in goal with regular goalie unable to attend. The guest goalie stood on her head and was able to keep the Whalers in the game despite the opposition’s relentless attack.
It was a time to reflect. Practice drills came to mind, key words resonated in the air., drawings on the board flashed randomly…oh yeah, that is what practice was about! Alright then, now they know! The Whalers realized what needs to be worked on and are looking forward to playing Nanaimo again, but this time, with a few more practices in the bag!
The Whalers are hosting the Port Alberni team this Saturday at 8pm at Sport Sentre 1.
