Despite the first two periods being scoreless, momentum was on the Whalers side, constantly knocking on the Parksville door. It wasn’t until around the 8th minute mark of the third period that Lee McGeorge was able to connect with Josée Bureau who put it passed the Shadowmakers goalie. Less than four minutes later, Tera Kasubuchi scored the second one assisted by Chrissy Sine and Shirley Carver. Rookie Melissa Peacock made it 3-0 in the last thirty second of the game with a funny bouncy goal from behind the net on a pass from Sine.
